President Obama swore up and down in 2016 that he does not get involved in FBI investigations, including the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server.
“I can guarantee. I can guarantee that not because I give Attorney General [Loretta] Lynch a directive, that is institutionally how we have always operated. I do not talk to the Attorney General about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations. We have a strict line and always have maintained it,” Obama told Fox News’ Chris Wallace in April 2016.
“I guarantee it,” Obama said. “I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department or the FBI, not just in this case but in any case. Period. Nobody gets treated differently when it comes to the Justice Department because nobody is above the law.”
“Even if she ends up as the Democratic nominee?” Wallace asked.
“How many times do I have to say it, Chris? Guaranteed,” Obama said.

Newly released emails from FBI lovers Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa Page reveal Page said on September 2, 2016 that “potus wants to know everything we’re doing” in relation to the Clinton email probe.
From Fox News:
Newly revealed text messages between FBI paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page include an exchange about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, who wanted “to know everything we’re doing.”
The message, from Page to Strzok, was among thousands of texts between the lovers reviewed by Fox News. The pair both worked at one point for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016, about prepping Comey because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.” According to a newly released Senate report, this text raises questions about Obama’s personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there is zero question they let Hillary Clinton off easy and spied on Donald Trump with the explicit aim of preventing him from becoming president. Everything which is slowly coming out is confirming this to be the case, it’s just a matter of how far the Republicans are willing to go.
